Fourth seasonal victory for VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè, the first seasonal success for Enrico Zanoncello, who had not yet clinched a victory in Europe.
DECLARATIONS:
“I am happy to have gifted my DS Alessandro Donati a home victory; my first professional victory was with him. It was still a challenging and lively stage with a very fast finish; we saved our energy to compete in the final stretch. I came out on top in the end, winning by a few centimeters. For me, it’s a great confirmation, coming from a year where I always won outside of Europe, and this victory means a lot to me.”
