Pellizzari Claims Young Classification and Secures his First Stage Race Podium, Pozzovivo Finishes 4th
At the Tour of Slovenia, 20-year-old Matteo Pellizzari claimed his first career podium finish in a stage race and the white jersey for the young rider classification. His teammate Domenico Pozzovivo finished in a commendable fourth place, also showcasing the strong performance of the Italian riders. The team racked up an impressive 8 top-10 finishes, one podium,and the first place in the young rider classification.
Martin Marcellusi emerged as the most combative rider of the final stage. The Roman rider demonstrated his excellent form during the Slovenian race, joining the breakaway group from the start and maintaining the pace set by Ben Healy on the short but demanding final climb.
Another positive note from the Tour of Slovenia was the team classification victory. VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanèwon this special ranking by 11 seconds ahead of the second-placed team.
DS Luca Amoriello expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance: “We are happy with our Tour of Slovenia.The guys were always in the thick of the action every day, supporting the two captains in critical moments. We raced every day with the aim of winning. The third and fourth place overall, the best young rider, and the team classification show that the whole team is in good shape.”
