VF GROUP BARDIANI-CSF FAIZANÈ: TOUR DE LANGKAWI, THIRD PLACE FOR TWENTY-YEAR-OLD LORENZO CONFORTI.

Conforti takes the podium in the opening stage: 'Happy with how we started, the podium gives us morale.' Mattia Pinazzi also finished in the top 10, in 8th place.

A great start for VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè in this Tour de Langkawi. In a tightly packed sprint, 2004-born Lorenzo Conforti claimed third place, finishing behind Syritsa and Van Unden. Conforti was the best Italian in the final standings. His teammate Mattia Pinazzi finished in eighth position.

“I managed to catch the right train, move to the right, and get on Syritsa’s wheel. The stage was short; we’ll see how the next ones go, which will be tougher, but I’m happy with how we started,” commented Lorenzo Conforti, 20, from Monsummano Terme, the best Italian in the race.

The caravan is now set for a ferry transfer; tomorrow, the second stage, Arau – Butterworth, covering 154.4 km, is on the agenda.
