VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè: Second Place for Conforti in Stage Two of the Giro Next Gen
An excellent start to this Giro Next Gen for the Tuscan Lorenzo Conforti, second behind the Frenchman Magnier.
Tuscan rider Lorenzo Conforti, born in 2004, shone in the second stage of the Giro Next Gen, the 105-km Aymavilles – Saint Vincent. Guided perfectly by his teammates in the final, he conquered the second step of the podium behind Frenchman Paul Magnier. Conforti is second in the points classification and will wear the red jersey tomorrow.
Conforti’s Comments:
“We controlled the race well, since it was short, we didn’t give any ground to the breakaway in the early stages. On the climb halfway through the race, Lotto Dstny set a good pace. At the last climb, all our teammates were there and the work they did to bring me into the sprint was perfect. I came out to sprint at 150m, at the same time as Magnier but he was faster. The result is surely motivating for the whole team and we hope to do well in the next stages too.”
