VF GROUP BARDIANI-CSF FAIZANÈ: PELLIZZARI JUST SHORT OF THE FEAT. THIRD IN THE GIRO DEL FRIULI.

Third place for Giulio Pellizzari, caught 500 meters from the finish after a solo attack.

An extraordinary performance by Giulio Pellizzari, who took third place in the third stage of the Giro del Friuli. The rider from the Marche region was one of the day’s main protagonists with his attack on the climb of Monte Ragogna. The pair of escapees behind him, Nordhagen and Torres, caught up with him with 500 meters to go. In the reduced sprint, the 20-year-old from Camerino stepped onto the third podium spot, as he did in yesterday’s stage, and strengthened his second place in the overall standings, just 2 seconds behind the Norwegian Nordhagen.

These were Pellizzari’s words: “I felt great and wanted to make up for yesterday’s stage. The breakaway didn’t succeed, but I always felt comfortable at the front, even though the group split several times. I hadn’t raced for a month, and this race is helping me regain my form. Today I found myself up against two great athletes like Nordhagen and Torres. We have nothing to lose, and we’ll try again tomorrow.”
