Manuele Tarozzi attacks from afar, caught 400m from the finish line. Mattia Pinazzi narrowly misses the podium in the sprint.
Great race management by VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizané in the fourth stage of the Tour de Langkawi, finishing in Bentong (138 km). Mattia Pinazzi secured fourth place in the group sprint, which closed the gap to the six breakaway riders of the day, including Faenza native Manuele Tarozzi, a key player in a long-range attack launched just a few kilometers after the start, which nearly succeeded.
The six breakaway riders, including Tarozzi, were caught 400 meters from the finish by the main group. Pinazzi was ready and took fourth place. For the rider from Parma, this is his third top 10 finish in this Tour de Langkawi.
Pinazzi’s words: “I’m happy with my Tour de Langkawi so far. I felt sorry for Tarozzi, who was caught in the final, as it seemed like a good opportunity for the breakaway today. In the sprint, I did my best, and the fourth place gives us confidence. I still have some chances; there are four stages left, and I will certainly try to do even better.”
