VF GROUP BARDIANI-CSF FAIZANÈ: GIRO D’ITALIA. LONG BREAKAWAY BY ZOCCARATO. SEVENTH GIULIO PELLIZZARI.

Zoccarato went on a long-range attack but was caught two kilometers from the finish. Pellizzari is seventh overall.

Zoccarato and Ravasi did well in this third stage of the Tour of Austria, staying out front for many kilometers with a maximum lead of over 3 minutes. The duo was caught by the peloton (main group of riders) with just under 2 km to go, thanks to the efforts of Ineos Grenadier.

Tenacious Pellizzari stayed with the best riders on the short but demanding final climb to the finish in Alpendorf. Pellizzari finished in seventh place, 6 seconds behind Diego Ulissi, moving up to seventh place in the general classification. In addition, the rider from the Marche region is second in the young rider classification behind Magnus Sheffield.
