Second intermediate sprint won in two days, yesterday with Fiorelli, today with Tarozzi. The Faenza native of the VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè broke away in an escape of 19 attackers after 75 km of racing. At the Paluaro intermediate sprint, Tarozzi crossed first and won the day’s intermediate sprint prize. Once the pace increased, mainly due to Alaphilippe’s forcing on the Duron pass, the Faenza rider lost ground to the leading group, finishing the race in eleventh place but showing great fighting spirit.
