The race was intense right from the start at the Giro del Veneto, characterized by numerous attacks, with a standout move by Pinarello, who broke away from the peloton and caught up with the breakaway group during the first passage over Monte Berico. Once the group came back together, it was the turn of the Tuscan rider Magli, in excellent form at this end of the season, to join the group of escapees 50 km from the finish, during a frantic phase filled with attack attempts.

Magli was caught by the first chasers on the flat section before the final climb of Monte Berico. With the group back together, reduced to about forty riders, the rider from Marche, Pellizzari, made a decisive attack 4 km from the finish, but was reeled in at the “flamme rouge” (1 km to go). In the final sprint, the best finisher for VF Group Bardiani-CSF Faizanè was the Sicilian Fiorelli, who placed 8th. The winner of the day was Corbin Strong.
