VF GROUP BARDIANI-CSF FAIZANÈ: DOMENICO POZZOVIVO FINISHES SIXTH IN THE GIRO DELLA TOSCANA.
Domenico Pozzovivo takes sixth place in the Giro di Toscana, the best Italian in the ranking.
Excellent performance by Domenico Pozzovivo of VF Group Bardiani CSF Faizané at the Giro della Toscana, finishing sixth at the Pontedera finish line. The rider from Basilicata once again managed to impress, as on the second ascent of Monte Serra, he kept pace with Storer and Champoussin until 500 meters from the summit, rejoining the chasing group. The two escapees reached the finish with a 17-second lead over the second group, with Pozzovivo taking sixth place.
“It was a race with little control by the teams, because after the first lap, there were continuous attacks and counterattacks until a breakaway group formed. We, along with other teams, tried to close the gap and rejoined just before the final climb, which was quite chaotic. I tried to take it head-on with other riders. However, after the selection was made, 500 meters from the summit, I had to drop Storer and Champoussin’s wheels and waited for the group behind, playing for third place. I’m satisfied with my condition: it was a climb that suited me, even though it was far from the finish.”
