TOUR DE LANGKAWI: PODIUM OF MATTEO PELUCCHI WITH A THIRD PLACE IN THE SPRINT.
Second podium of the season for the team after the one reached by Marco Benfatto in Argentina. Matteo Pelucchi tries to finalize the excellent teamwork in a heart-pounding sprint. Third place in the photo finish, after the two top 10 placings of the previous sprints.
Bardiani CSF Faizanè growing in condition in the Malaysian trip. At the Tour de Langkawi, after 4 top 10 positions (2 by Matteo Pelucchi and 2 by Giovanni Lonardi), the first podium of the Malaysian trip arrives thanks to the top sprinter Matteo Pelucchi.
The sprinter born in 1989 knows the Tour de Langkawi very well where in 2019 he placed two important successes, the first of them in the fifth stage. Today, in the fifth stage of the Tour de Langkawi 2020, he went very close to the success thanks also to the excellent teamwork done by all his teammates. The Bardiani CSF Faizanè train made good job in the top of the group in the final kilometers, bringing its sprinter in a good position for the sprint. The last wheel is the young Giovanni Lonardi who has relaunched the sprint out of the last corner, thus giving way to Matteo Pelucchi who with an excellent sprint played the final victory up to the finish, touching the first seasonal success.
Three stages at the end of the Tour de Langkawi where there will be other opportunities for the team’s fast wheels, especially in the last stage scheduled for Sunday, February 16, with the final circuit and arrival in Kuah.
