REVERBERI RELAUNCHES THE #GREENTEAM FOR THE SECOND PART OF THE SEASON
TEAM MANAGER REVERBERI: “WE COME BACK FORM FRANCE AND SLOVENIA WITH GOOD MORALE: LET’S CONTINUE SO”
Encouraging signals for Bardiani-CSF comes from the last two experiences in France and Slovenia. Both the stages race, Route d’Occitanie and Tour of Slovenia, have seen a competitive #GreenTeam, with the riders determined to leave the mark on the second part of the season.
In France, Giovanni Carboni, after the bold Giro d’Italia in which stood out as one of the best Italian talent, confirmed the good level of his form competing with a top level parterre, led by the World Champion Valverde. Carboni was the most competitive rider for Bardiani-CSF, finishing both the mountain stages among the best top ten riders (9th and 8th), placing 6th in final classification (+ 1’30” from winner Valverde) and third in young riders ranking. Good performances also from 22-year-old climbers Luca Covili, also coming from the debut at Giro d’Italia, and Francesco Romano, who did a gutsy ride in the breakaway in queen stage. To highlight also the ninth place of Michael Bresciani in the sprint of stage two.
At Tour of Slovenia, less suited for climbers but not less engaging, Lorenzo Rota, Daniel Savini and Vincenzo Albanese shined above all in the team. Rota finished the race in 10th position and the same result has been taken in queen stage; Savini took the second place in the young riders classification; Albanese stand out in the last stage placing 6th.
“We had expectations of growing signals from Route d’Occitanie and Tour of Slovenia” said team manager Roberto Reverberi. “On Sunday we’ll have an important event of the season, the Italian Champ, and then four months full of races. We have the strong will to give a significative shift to our season, to show that the results we took so far don’t reflect the real valute of the team. We expect these last good performances won’t be isolated cases – we have to guarantee continuity and be confident in our means”.
As said, Bardiani-CSF will now focuson the Italian Champ: on Friday the time trial race (Bedonia, Parma, 34 km) and on Sunday the road race (Borgo Val di Taro-Compiano, Parma, 227 km).
