LONARDI AND MONACO FIRST HITS FOR 2020 #GREENTEAM

REVERBERI: “TWO IMPORTANT SIGNINGS, THE FIRST STEP OF A DEEP ROSTER RENEWAL”

Bardiani-CSF announces today its first signings for the next season, Giovanni Lonardi and Alessandro Monaco. Professional since January with Nippo-Fantini-Faizanè the first one, under 23 rider with Casillo-Maserati the second one, both will wear the #GreenTeam jersey in 2020.

“The signing of Lonardi and Monaco is the first step of a deep roster renewal that we will put in place in view of the next season” says team manager Roberto Reverberi. “We have followed Giovanni since he was in U23 category and during his first months as professional, he confirmed to be a talent that deserves trust. Alessandro has proved his solidity year by year, he has consistently grown, showing to be ready to move up among the pros. Both are bold signings and we’re confident they will be an add value for the new #GreenTeam”.

Born in 1996 in Verona, Lonardi is a sprinter that already took two wins in only seven months as professional: stage 5 of Tour of Taiwan and stage 1 of Tour of Thailand. In his palmares also six podiums and two top ten sprints at 2019 Giro d’Italia (8th and 9th place). In U23 category he was renewed as one of the best sprinters, thanks to 18 wins in three years including La Popolarissima, Circuito del Porto and U23 Giro d’Italia first stage, all in 2018 with Zalf-Euromobil team.

After a less impressive path, but for this not less positive, Monaco will be a professional rider after testing few times the top category with Italian National team. Born in 1998 in Grottaglie (Taranto), he showed good skills both as climber both as rouleur. During his experience in U23 category (three years) he raced a bold and demanding schedule with few international events, such as U23 Giro d’Italia, Giro della Valle d’Aosta, Tour de l’Avenir (2018) and Innsbruck World Champ.
