THE #GREENTEAM SIGNS ZACCANTI AND FIORELLI

Filippo Zaccanti and Filippo Fiorelli will be part of the 2020 Bardiani-CSF. After Lonardi and Monaco, the #GreenTeam announces the signing of two new riders to bolster its roster in view of the upcoming season.

“Zaccanti and Fiorelli have the profile of our ideal rider: ambitious, promising and determined” explains team manager Roberto Reverberi. “Even though they have followed different path, they will join Bardiani-CSF in a crucial moment for their career. We know they have potential and strong motivations. We’ll give them the chance of showing it”.

Zaccanti was born in 1995 in the province of Bergamo and became professional after a promising experience with Team Colpack. Two fractures – hand at Trofeo Laigueglia and collarbone at Giro di Sicilia – affected the very first part of the season, but on his return in race he immediately showed off his skills by winning the King of Mountain jersey at Tour of Japan and, above all, claiming the first pro win at Tour of Korea (final classification).

“The trust of Bruno and Roberto Reverberi is a big push to try the step change that I feel to do at my third year as professional” says Zaccanti. “My season so far has had few ups and downs and I hope I put behind the bad luck. For 2020 the goal is to the test me, to raise the bar and to understand my limits. Bardiani-CSF is for sure the ideal context to reach it. I’m ready to give my all to repay the faith”.

For Fiorelli, born in 1994 in Palermo, the #GreenTeam call is the culmination of a path started only five years ago but immediately promising. After 3rd place at GP di Capodarco, Fiorelli collected 18 podiums and eight wins, two of which among the pros at Tour of Albania (stage and final classification). Few weeks ago he also wore the Italian Team jersey at Adriatica Ionica Race.

“I was waiting this moment since one year. Thanks so much to Bardiani-CSF and Reverberi’s family for this chance” says Fiorelli. “At the end of 2018 season I had almost lost all hope to become a pro-rider, but I was lucky to have at my side people who supported and pushed me to try again. I can finally prove myself at the highest level of cycling. I have a lot of expectations on my future. I know myself and also the points on which I have to work. I’m really excited and can’t wait to start this new phase of my life”.

Zaccanti and Fiorelli (as trainee) are now racing at Tour of Utah with Nippo-Fantini-Faizanè.
