Great performance from the 19-year-old rider of Green Project Bardiani-CSF Faizanè who secured the 6th position in the queen stage.
A short but challenging stage in terms of altitude, Pellizzari faced the climb, always keeping the leading riders in sight. The final ascent of Babadag was extremely tough, 18.5km at a 10.4% gradient, which put the climbers to a hard test today. A well-deserved and hard-fought sixth place, which brings him to 6th position in the GC. The 2003-born rider from Marche is the best young rider and the top Italian in the general classification.
His statements: “We tackled the first climb fairly strongly and there was a selection, we stayed in the front 30. The descent was crucial, very technical. In fact, we took it in the leading positions, the group split, and on the final climb, I maintained my pace without pushing too hard. I am very happy with the performance.”
