CICCONE AND ALBANESE, IT’S TIME TO DEBUT

Giulio Ciccone and Vincenzo Albanese can – finally – make their debut in 2017 season. The talents of Bardiani-CSF received the green light from team doctor Giampaolo Benini and, on Thursday, will be at the start of Settimana Coppi e Bartali.

Both riders followed differentiated training schedules during past three months, aiming to fully recover from their injuries – Ciccone recovered from ablative operation on December 29 while Albanese from knee inflammation.

Good news also for Simone Sterbini who suffered fracture of radial-head capitellar during first stage of Dubai Tour. Together wit Ciccone and Albanese, he will return to race at Settimana Coppi e Bartali.

For three riders ready to race, likewise need a period of rest. Nicola Ruffoni and Luca Wackermann, who has been submitted to medical check that highlighted toxoplasmosis, will be not included in next races rosters to fully recover in view of intense spring calendar. Similar schedule for Niccolò Pacinotti, who suffered pains at knee at Tour de Langkawi and needs precautional rest.
