BARDIANI CSF FAIZANÈ: GIOVANNI CARBONI IN THE BREAKWAY, CAUGHT BY THE BUNCH 7 KM BEFORE THE FINISH-LINE.
Again a good breakaway of the Bardiani CSF Faizanè in the Giro d’Italia, with Giovanni Carboni able to be in today action with 19 riders and then with only 6 riders trying to reach the Sega di Ala finish-line. The pink jersey group caught him 7 km before the finish-line.
Giovanni Carboni was one of the top riders of the day in Giro d’Italia, with a great action. A high level breakaway of 19 riders went away form the bunch after 50km rode at high speed. Behind the group is leaded by the BikeExchange team for Simon Yates.
On the first category GPM of passo S.Valentino 4 riders went in front of the race: Moscon, Martin, Bouchard and Pedrero, immediately followed by Carboni and Ravanelli that went back to them in the descent. With 6 riders leading the race at the begin of the final climb to Sega di Ala, the race is still open.
The pink jersey group catch all the riders in the front, except from Dan Martin, winner of today stage. Giovanni C arbor is reached 7 km before the finish line, and close with a final 23° position a good day in a strong breakaway.
