Bardiani CSF Faizanè is pleased to announce the renewal of Enrico Battaglin. The rider from Vicenza, launched in professionalism by the #GreenTeam, after the great return of 2021, will continue his career by continuing to wear the colors of Bardiani CSF Faizanè. With him there will also be Samuele Zoccarato, who with his good and constant performances, among which the podium at the Italian national championships stands out, has reached a well-deserved contract extension.

These are the words of Roberto Reverberi: “Enrico Battaglin represents for us a top level athlete who we are happy to be able to confirm with our team also for the 2022 season. Enrico is above all a winner who rarely misses the appointments he sets himself. In the Montalcino stage without the crash in the final he could probably have led us to the stage success of the Giro, I am sure that already in this season finale, in the many Italian events, he will still be able to have his say. In the team in 2022 we will have many young riders, who are moving first steps into professionalism and his role as leader, together with other more experienced teammates, will also be fundamental in this perspective. We are also happy to announce the contract extension of Samuele Zoccarato, an athlete who always shows great determination and ability to ride on the attack. His third place in the National Championship is a prof of his skills, he made a great number by rushing the entire race to the attack, as he did also in the Giro d’Italia in the stage with arrival in Canale, won by his escape companion Taco Van Der Hoorn. Samuele is a guy with still good room for growth, especially in the reading of the race, and in whom we believe a lot. “

Winner of 3 stages in the Giro d’Italia, 2 of which with the #GreenTeam jersey, Enrico Battaglin will be one of the experienced men ready to lead the many talented young riders of the 2022 team roster. Good placements reached this year by Enrico, among which the podium at the Giro dell’Appennino stand out, behind Ben Hermans and Valerio Conti, the sixth place in the first stage of the Tour of The Alps and the sixth place at the Giro of Italy in the spectacular stage with finish-line in Montalcino.

Enrico Battaglin: “I am first of all grateful to Bruno and Roberto Reverberi for the renewal. This year I did well in some periods, but I was unable to reach my goals 100%. In May for our highlight at the Giro d’Italia I was ready but a first crash conditioned me and in the Montalcino stage where I finished sixth, I unfortunately had the second crash, which not only compromised the stage victory , but also the rest of my Giro. June and July were my best months, which is also reflected in the good podiums and top5 placements. Now I am focused on the team’s races this autumn which are in Italy, important for the team, and in particular the last one in Veneto also passes close to my house. Looking forward to next season, I definitely want to start stronger, getting good results right away. Staying in the same team, with excellent technical materials that I already know, I will have no problem finding the right feeling right away and this will certainly help me a lot. “

Samuele Zoccarato, former professional in 2021 with Bardiani CSF Faizanè, as a neo-professional athlete would have already had another year of contract with the team for 2022. His consistency in performance and his good results have nevertheless convinced Bardiani CSF Faizanè to invest in the rider with a further contractual extension.

Since the first races among the professionals in this 2021 Samuele Zoccarato has shown his good endurance and ability to enter the breakaways. Often on the attack even in prestigious and demanding races such as the Strade Bianche and the Giro d’Italia, Samuele Zoccarato also attacked for the entire Italian championship, where with a great performance he took third place, climbing on the podium at alongside Colbrelli and Masnada. A characteristic that had already brought him close to success also in the Giro d’Italia, where in the third stage he was good at getting into the right action then won by his “breakaway companion” Taco Van Der Hoorn.

Samuele Zoccarato: “I am happy with this contract extension, for me it represents a great certificate of esteem and is proof that the team believes in me. A fundamental thing here in Bardiani CSF Faizanè is that we young people, in addition to working for the team and for our teammates, are given our possibilities, to show off and above all to try to achieve results. Right from the start I was granted many opportunities and I tried to exploit them. I know I’ve also made tactical mistakes on a few occasions and I’m trying to learn from them. In my first year as a pro I learned that it’s not enough to have a great leg, but that the tactical reading of running is essential. If I hadn’t had the opportunity to race and learn in prestigious races before, I wouldn’t have made it to the podium at the National Championship. Now my goal is to try to hit my first win among the pros, continuing to work hard and making myself available to my teammates whenever required. “
