The rider with great determination keep strong in Milano-Sanremo and Per Sempre Alfredo despite feeling pain, but the MRI made this Monday revealed a fracture of the third metatarsal of his left foot.

Bad luck does not want to leave Giovanni Visconti at the beginning of the season. The MRI performed this Monday following the continuous and persistent pain revealed a micro-fracture in the third metatarsal of the left foot.

This means that Giovanni Visconti rode the entire Milano-Sanremo and, on the following day, the first edition of Per Sempre Alfredo, with a broken foot showing great tenacity.

THE INJURY.

The Sicilian athlete’s season hadn’t started in the best way with an injury slowing down his condition growth. At the Istrian Spring Trophy he had appeared much more brilliant, working in support of his teammates and being fundamental, together with Enrico Battaglin, on the day of Filippo Zana’s victory. Precisely on that occasion, during a group fall, a severe bruise on his foot had caused him a pain that remained persistent even in the following days. At the end of the competition weekend, he then made a MRI that revealed the fracture.

THE TIMING TO COME BACK TO RACES.

For him a short period of stop and active recovery in addition to magnetotherapy to be carried out for 8 hours a day, thanks to the equipment provided by the partner of the team: RevitaLife.

His return to the race is scheduled for mid-April at the Tour of Turkey, so there will be time for him to recover and get back to his best without losing important racing days.
