Riders statements.
Filippo Fiorelli: “On the map I thought it would be a more challenging finish, but instead we took the final ramp so fast that we climbed it easily, so much so that all the best sprinters came to play for success. We worked well as a team, I really have to thank my teammates who did everything to keep me under cover in the last kilometers and to face the final in a good position and as always I played my chances. Among all the sprint specialists I feel satisfied with this ninth place, waiting to get back a chance maybe in the right escape in a restricted sprint. “
Umberto Marengo: “Another day at the attack, the third in this Giro d’Italia, important for us to gain visibility but also to try to take advantage of every single opportunity. Even today the sprinter trains were not surprised but the Giro is known to be unpredictable and we always want to be ready. I know I am one of the athletes to have already covered more miles of breakaway but it will certainly not be the last of this Giro. I’ll try again. “
The Bardiani CSF Faizanè team raced today also in Spain, in Mallorca, for the Serra da Tramuntana Trophy. Daniel Savini and Andrea Garosio, respectively 13th and 14th, the best of the team at the finish line.
